Wednesday Night Jazz Jam – Every Wednesday
The Dark Room at the Grandel – FREE
Free and family-friendly, the Wednesday Night Jazz Jam is a weekly gathering that brings jazz within reach for people of all ages and backgrounds. Hosted by Bob DeBoo, the Jazz Jam takes place from 6-9 pm, live inside The Dark Room at The Grandel. Host Bob Deboo and rotating guests kick off the evening with standards & originals, followed by a jam session open to all in attendance. Food and drink are available for purchase, kitchen open 6 – 8pm. Limited seating is available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Whitaker Music Festival – Every Wednesday in July
Missouri Botanical Garden – FREE
The open-air Whitaker Music Festival presents free Wednesday evening concerts under the stars every summer. To date, more than one million people have participated in this cherished St. Louis summer tradition.
The festival is funded by the Whitaker Foundation, which supports St. Louis arts and parks to promote common heritage, celebrate diversity and encourage vitality within the community.
Free admission begins at 5 p.m. on each performance evening; no advance tickets or reservations are required. Enter through the Jack C. Taylor Visitor Center at the Garden’s entrance. All packages subject to inspection; please review the list of prohibited items by clicking this link.

Feeling inspired? Collaborate with local St. Louis artist Javyn Solomon to create a mural masterpiece under the dome! Everyone is invited to help turn upcycled materials into a large piece of art over the course of the event. The art itself will be paint-by-number, so no creative skills are needed to hop in to the festivities!

Maplewood Summer Concert Series – FREE

The Summer Concert Series brings neighbors, friends, and everyone in between together for an evening of music and fun. This year the series runs June through September and is FREE to attend. The concerts are held in Ryan Hummert Park and made possible with the support of the City of Maplewood and sponsoring businesses.

Ballpark Village – August 2nd-4th (various times)
One of the best food festivals in the Midwest returns to Ballpark Village, and it’s turning up the heat with a Spice Wars theme. From Aug. 2 to 4, Taste of St. Louis will feature bites from almost 50 regional restaurants, 20 entertainment acts across three stages and a new VIP tasting terrace. Blues at the Arch Festival – FREE
Gateway Arch National Park – August 9th-11th
This popular end-of-summer celebration pays tribute to St. Louis’ storied blues history and showcases the talents of national and local artists. Produced in partnership with the National Blues Museum and the National Park Service, this free festival is the only one of its kind to take place on national park grounds.
Mark your calendars and plan to join at the North Gateway of Gateway Arch National Park. The Festival will be from Friday, Aug. 9 through Saturday, Aug. 10, with an incredible Blues Brunch (ticketed) on Sunday, Aug. 11 to cap off the weekend.
