Ming Lu

Olá! My name is Ming Lu. I am from Zhengzhou, China. Before coming to WASHU, I completed challenging and rewarding undergraduate studies in the United States. At Olin, I gained a lot of new experiences and unexpected rewards.

Daily, my life is usually filled with cooking and exploring. I co-owned a restaurant with my classmates in China and worked as a chef in it. My culinary skills have received a lot of recognition even in the US. In addition, I have dived into the South China Sea and explored the desert. At other times, I also follow League of Legends games. I am a fan of LPL.

My first class in the US was at the Florida Institute of Technology. The professors there are my academic partners and my career guides. I was exposed to the supply chain management discipline while studying aviation logistics management. In the gradual in-depth understanding of the logistics industry, I deeply realized the importance of supply chain management to other industries. I’m excited about the knowledge and potential opportunities. OLIN attracted me with its excellent teaching quality and massive career resources. This makes me fortunate to study at WASHU.

It is lacking not to combine knowledge with practical application. This realization drove me to look for possible internships. During my search for internship companies, I received generous help from WCC. Enthusiastic consultants provided me with a complete set of guidance from interviews to resume revision. I MUST PREPARE FOR INTERVIEWS IN OTHER LANGUAGES since I plan to interview companies from different countries. I was pleasantly surprised to get the resources I wanted at WCC. I successfully entered an international supply chain management company in Brazil by participating in social activities, contacting alumni, and my own efforts. Currently, I have left the US and started my career in Brazil. It’s certainly a challenge for me, but it’s all exciting.

In my work, I will apply what I have learned at OLIN to help my company. I firmly believe that, together with my colleagues, I can redefine supply chain management in Brazil. Here, I will assist my manager in capacity planning, procurement, improving working efficiency, and maintaining key customer relationships. This ambitious company will help me gain more hands-on experience in supply chain and help me succeed. I hope that starting from Brazil in the future, we can gradually change the backwardness of other countries in the world and realize the joint development of mankind.

It is my honor to share my experience with everyone. Again, I thank OLIN and Weston Career Center for setting up the platform for me. Numerous successful occasions show that coming here is the correct choice.

I look forward to sharing what has happened with many more and wish you continued success.
