Seethu Seetharaman
Seethu Seetharaman is W. Patrick McGinnis Professor of Marketing, Director of the Center for Analytics and Business Insights (CABI), at the Olin Business School, Washington University in St. Louis. His research primarily deals with the application of econometric models and machine learning algorithms to explain and predict consumer and firm behavior. Seethu’s research informs customer targeting, pricing and advertising decisions, as well as promotional strategies of firms. Seethu has taught courses on Marketing Management, Data-Driven Business Decisions, Analytics for Brand Management, Marketing Analytics, Data-Driven Customer Management, Marketing Research etc. to various constituencies (MBA, Executive MBA, MSBA, BSBA etc.) both in the US and abroad (China, India etc.). Seethu received his Ph.D. in Marketing at Cornell University. Seethu also holds B.Tech and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering (from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and the University of Utah, respectively). Seethu is married to Gayathri, and has a 22-year old daughter, Aditi (who is a second-year Ph.D. student in Biomedical Engineering at Wash U), and a 16-year old son, Satvik (currently a junior at Marquette High School). Seethu is a die-hard fan of the music of South Indian music composer Ilaiyaraaja and lives in Chesterfield. Seethu and Gayathri celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in December 2023 by visiting breath-taking New Zealand and have vowed to visit NZ again partly to convince themselves that it wasn’t all a dream and the country, in fact, really exists!
