Mikale Elliott, Graduate Programs Recruiter

Mikale is a graduate programs recruiter primarily working with Full-Time MBA candidates. She has had the opportunity to connect with prospective students from all over the world, recently traveling to India, Mexico, and Peru. Her favorite part of her role is learning about how students wish to impact the world in a positive way. As an undergraduate, she gained experience recruiting underrepresented minorities and being a language partner for international students. She took a non-traditional pathway working as a flight attendant for a few years. Eventually, she returned to higher education to work on an HIV prevention research project. Through all these pivots, the thing that brought her back to admissions was her passion for helping others from diverse backgrounds reach their goals. This year she will graduate with a Master of Education in Higher Education and Adult Learning and is looking forward to walking the stage the same weekend as the first class she recruited at Olin. It feels full circle, and she is looking to continue her work toward developing others in higher education. She has a one-year-old tuxedo cat named Ash and when she is not globetrotting or working with students she enjoys getting out on trails for a hike, trying new restaurants, and listening to podcasts.

Mikale advocates for the institution and is a welcoming face when coming through the doors as a new student. She puts her all into her job, remembers every student, and their story, and “punches above her weight” when it comes to advocacy. She is the quintessential professional, even when things don’t go right, carries a collected demeanor, and is well-rationed in her actions. Mikale recruited me to come to Olin, espoused its values, opportunities, and network, and helped solidify my decision. I’m thankful that she was the first person I met on the MBA journey, and I hope every incoming student is fortunate to have her handle their recruitment with the same level of care she showed me and others in my class! She deserves recognition from the institution, and I hope she feels valued and appreciated for years to come!” Nashad Carrington, MBA 2024
