Greetings, Olin! My name is Morata Zhou. As an MSBA accounting analytics student, I am so delighted to share my experience with you. I grew up in Beijing, China, and completed my undergraduate studies in accounting at the Capital University of Economics and Business. During this time, I self-learned the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) exams, passing nine of them within a single year, without any exemptions. This achievement was a pivotal moment, deepening my understanding and passion for accounting.

I pride myself on being detail-oriented and responsible. These traits were especially useful during my audit internship at EY, where I identified client errors in interest recognition and revenue time proportioning. This led to our client successfully realizing its IPO.

My friends always describe me as a supportive person. This quality partly derives from my past experiences. As I grew up, I experienced a lot of ridicule from peers due to the inherited disorder in my legs. This leg disorder caused my lack of ability to engage in intense exercises. When I ran, myasthenia would happen to my calf muscles, resulting in my awkward running posture, and I would be laughed at by my classmates. These setbacks have made me more empathetic and understanding toward those facing disadvantages.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to ECLL, including Lixing, Beth, and my good friend Seuss. Our weekly meeting is a fascinating place to share everybody’s experiences. More than just enhancing English skills, the goal of our team is to provide an inclusive place for all perspectives and to build long-term relationships with each other. It is my honor to be a leader of this family. With care and love, I will strive to make ECLL more than just an English-practicing class.

As I join the Olin community, I look forward to not only growing as an individual but also actively supporting others in their journeys. Let us uphold Olin’s pledge to diversity, equality, and inclusion.

Greetings, Olin community, and fellow MSF students! I am Seuss Su, and I am currently enrolled in the Master of Finance—Quantitative Finance program. It’s a pleasure to share my journey with you.

Initially from China, I pursued my undergraduate degree in International Economics and Trade at Huaqiao University. My academic path led me to develop a strong foundation in economic theories and trade practices, further fueling my interest in finance. As I navigate my studies in the MSFQ program of Olin Business School, I am eager to delve deeper into the complexities of financial markets and quantitative analysis. My background in economics has prepared me well for this field’s rigorous and dynamic environment.

My passion for sports began at a young age. At five, I started learning table tennis. By middle school, I had become a professional athlete—this early exposure to sports instilled a sense of discipline and resilience. I continue to uphold this discipline; I wake up at 5:30 AM nearly daily to hit the gym. Fitness is not just a routine for me; it’s a lifestyle.

Apart from sports, I am deeply interested in dance, especially hip-hop. Dancing offers me a way to express myself and unwind. It’s not just about the movements but the accompanying rhythm and energy.

In my leisure time, I indulge in the thrill of road trips. There’s something incredibly liberating about driving with friends, chasing sunsets, and exploring new places. These journeys are not just about the destinations but the memories we create.

I am immensely grateful to Beth and Lixing for allowing me to co-lead the ECLL (English Communication, Learning, and Lunch) alongside my good friend Morata. It’s truly fulfilling to contribute to ECLL, especially with a close friend by my side. Our role in ECLL is not just about organizing activities; it’s about fostering a supportive and engaging environment for everyone. We often gather for lunch, practicing English and sharing experiences. However, it’s more than just language practice; it’s about caring for each other’s well-being. We’ve grown close to every member, forming solid friendships beyond the classroom.

I look forward to contributing to and learning from the diverse and vibrant Olin community. Together, let’s embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead and make a positive impact in our respective fields and beyond.
