OCTOBER 17 @ 5:00 PM-8:30 PM RECURRING EVENT SAINT LOUIS ZOO | $10 – $12 

Don’t be scared! The Saint Louis Zoo’s nighttime Halloween experience, Boo at the Zoo, features festive decorations, entertaining performers and special food and drink menus, so you can enjoy the holiday without catching a fright.

CITY MUSEUM | $20 

Step into a world of spine-tingling wonder at our one-of-a-kind event: Fright at the Museum! Prepare to be amazed, mystified, and thoroughly entertained as you embark on a journey through a realm of oddities and curiosities that will leave you both thrilled and captivated. 

Fright at the Museum events will take place 9/29-10/30 during operating hours! 

OCTOBER 20 @ 6:00 PM-9:00 PM MISSOURI BOTANICAL GARDEN | $15 – $40 

Fest-of-Ale celebrates local breweries as they serve their best suds at the Missouri Botanical Garden. Participating breweries include 4 Hands Brewing Co., Brick River Cider Co., Narrow Gauge Brewing Co. and Urban Chestnut Brewing Co. This event is for those 21 and older. Advance tickets are recommended, and they include beer samplings and a commemorative glass. Attendees can also enjoy live music by Wax Museum. 

OCTOBER 20 @ 6:00 PM-11:00 PM |RECURRING EVENT SIX FLAGS ST. LOUIS 

With thrills both on and off the rides, Fright Fest at Six Flags St. Louis is one of the spookiest events of the season. During the day, family-friendly attractions abound, but at night, all the creatures that go bump in the night haunt the park. Expect rides in the dark, haunted houses and other scare zones. 

OCTOBER 21 @ 10:00 AM-6:00 PM RECURRING EVENT ROTARY PARK 

Armored jousting, aerial acts, lively music, fine foods, vintage wares, friends new and old and plenty of cheer will appear at the St. Louis Renaissance Festival. Come and find what strikes you merry! The St. Louis Renaissance Festival will take place on Saturdays and Sundays from Sept. 16 to Oct. 22, as well as Mon., Oct. 9, and festivities will proceed, rain or shine. 

  • Apple Butter Festival 

OCTOBER 28 @ 10:00 AM-5:00 PM RECURRING EVENT KIMMSWICK, MO | FREE 

Attracting more than 100,000 visitors every year, the Apple Butter Festival is the largest event in Kimmswick, Missouri. While participants can enjoy the small-town ambiance, live entertainment and between 500 and 600 food, drink and craft vendors, there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes, too. On Friday, the Kimmswick Historical Society gathers to peel and prepare the apples. Then, before dawn on Saturday and Sunday, the apples are cooked in a kettle over a wood-burning fire until the fragrant spread is thick enough to seal in jars. After one taste of the apple butter, you’ll want to stock your pantry with the indulgence. 

NOVEMBER 4 LAUMEIER SCULPTURE PARK | $10 

For one night only, Laumeier after Dark gives the public a unique opportunity to explore Laumeier Sculpture Park at night. The annual event features temporary art and light installations from local artists as well as illuminations of the park’s most iconic sculptures. Laumeier after Dark also includes a night market with local makers, food and beverage vendors and live music. 

NOVEMBER 4 SCHLAFLY BOTTLEWORKS | FREE 

Every fall, Schlafly Bottle works in Maplewood lights up with bonfires for the Full Moon Festival. Join the brewery as it celebrates the annual harvest with live music and a pig roast featuring hogs from regional farmers. 

  • During the event, local chefs will also compete for your affection – and your stomach space – in a deliciously competitive chili cook-off. 
  • Despite the full moon, the stars of the night are undoubtedly the kegs of White Lager, Pumpkin Ale, Coffee Stout, Hard Apple Cider and other seasonal suds from Schlafly Beer. 
  • The Full Moon Festival is free, and no tickets are required.
