Expand your world. International Immersion.
The Madagascar Sustainability Initiative (MSI) allows students to engage in grassroots, sustainable development in rural subsistence economies. Through our partnership with the Missouri Botanical Garden (MBG) and their work in Madagascar, students from diverse disciplines are challenged to develop and assess the feasibility of entrepreneurial solutions to poverty alleviation through the lens of the MBG’s mission of environmental conservation and sustainable development.

“MSI is a class that changes your perspective on our world. You get to work with people from across the country and share knowledge, and I didn’t realize until I was there that it’s a two way street: we learn from each other. There were so many memories created in just three weeks that will last a lifetime.” -Sabrina Baxamusa, Spring 2019 participant
