Hi, welcome to my website.

I’m Myunghoon Kang, a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at Washington University in St. Louis. My ultimate research agenda centers on analyzing the role of political institutions and their combined effects. Under this broad research agenda, my current research focus is the interactions between two fundamental political institutions that underlie the representative democracy in the United States: elections and the separation of powers. In detail, I am interested in analyzing how elections, the separation of powers, and the interactions between these two institutions can theoretically affect the actual working of the representative democracy. Game theory and social choice theory are the main tools that I rely on in my research.
