Samuel Uzoechi is a biomedical engineer with advanced training in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. He obtained B.Tech in Biomedical Technology with Professor Chuba Okoye at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria, and MSc in Biomedical Engineering (Molecular, Cell, and Tissue Engineering) with Professor Marcel Karperien at the University of Twente, the Netherlands. He also hold a Ph.D. in Engineering Science (Bioengineering) in the Lab of Professor Nehal Abu-Lail at Washington State University (WSU). He is currently pioneering the Society for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine of Nigeria.

His research areas are broad and multidisciplinary. These include cartilage and bone tissue engineering, stem cell biology, bacterial multidrug resistance, and biofilm formation. He is currently involved in multiple projects in Mitreva Lab which include neglected tropical diseases, helminths, and helminth infections, Omics driven helminth research, and characterization and validation of drug targets and anthelmintic drugs.
