Academy DEI: Foundations of an Inclusive Workplace: Mindfulness
In this 90 minute collaborative learning session, participants will build awareness of how mindfulness can support their success in inclusive work environments.
This session will build awareness of the foundational concepts, benefits, and science behind mindfulness, as well as different forms of mindfulness practice.
This session is focused on building individual awareness, and is designed to meet participants where they are: learning new skills, practicing them, or building the capacity to support work in their own environment.
The full 3-part series will occur May 6, May 13, and May 20, 2021.
These sessions are a collaboration between Mindfulness Consultant, Meg Krejci and the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Erin Stampp, and is open to all students, staff, and faculty.
In this series we work with the tool of mindfulness to expand our capacity to be present and notice how it supports our work for equity and justice. We move from not only learning about ourselves and the biases we carry to becoming more able to lean into unpleasantness and cultivate compassion. This is the foundational work needed to build the community and connection that will support healing and restoration needed for transformation.
