Not hearing heart and lung sounds puts the patient at a disadvantage for optimal treatment.

Problem
Telemedicine is becoming a staple in modern medicine. Unfortunately, the doctor cannot perform the vital physical exam over the camera. The heart exam is one of the most important exams, which will impact the 30 million US adults facing heart disease. This problem will only worsen with the aging baby boomers doubling senior citizens to 90 million. There are already 32 billion dollars wasted annually on unnecessary ER visits that can be seen in the doctor’s office.
Our Vision
Our vision is to improve the current standard of care for telemedicine by designing a home-use medical device that bridges the gap between in-person doctor’s visits and current telemedicine visits without physical exams.
Our Solution
MiDoc is an at-home medical device that addresses telemedicine’s missing component: the physical exam.
MiDoc is a consumer-friendly, wearable product that will automatically obtain exam data (without user involvement), preventing user error. Additionally, MiDoc’s dynamic design will fit variable body shapes. It features medical-grade electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) leads, which evaluate the electrical health of the heart. In a sense, MiDoc is an at-home stethoscope, which empowers doctors to provide better care to patients through improved diagnostic accuracy and health outcome.
