Lunar meteorite (feldspathic breccia)

History: Purchased by Wei Jiang in 2020 from a meteorite dealer

Physical characteristics: The specimen is partially covered by glass with smooth surface. Some grey silicates and white plagioclase clasts are visible in the exposed surface.

Petrography: (J. Ji, S. Hu and Y. Lin, IGGCAS) This meteorite is mainly composed of fine-grained matrix. Some magnesian anorthosite and anorthosite clasts, are embedded by the fine-grained matrix.

Geochemistry: Mineral compositions and geochemistry: (J. Ji, S. Hu and Y. Lin, IGGCAS) Olivine: Fa20.9± 3.0 (n=17), Fe/Mn=97±9 (mole ratio), pyroxene: Fs20.1±4.5Wo10.2±3.1 (n=8), Fe/Mn=54±3 (mole ratio), plagioclase: An96.4±0.8Ab3.6±0.7 (n=13).

Classification: (J. Ji, S. Hu and Y. Lin, IGGCAS) Lunar feldspathic breccia.

Specimens: 26.3 g at IGGCAS. The main mass is held by Wei Jiang.
