Lunar meteorite (feldspathic breccia)

History: Purchased by Geologist Juan Avilés Poblador in 2021 from Said Yousfi in Morocco.

Physical characteristics: Single stone with minor fusion crust.

Petrography: (D. Sheikh, Cascadia) Specimen is a breccia composed predominantly of sub-angular to sub-rounded anorthositic clasts (up to ~1 cm), and minor poikilitic, porphyritic, and troctolitic clasts, and isolated mineral fragments, set within a fine-grained matrix containing areas of crystalline impact melt and vesicles.
Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa31.1±12.3, range Fa10.4-46.2, Fe/Mn=76±16, n=11), Calcic Plagioclase (An96.0±1.2, range An93.3-98.9, n=35).

Classification: Lunar (feldspathic breccia).

Specimens: 6.8 grams and a thin section at Cascadia; main mass with Juan Avilés Poblador.
