“Funny looking”
If it is stony and has an unusual, weird, or bizarre shape, then it is not a meteorite
All the photos below were sent to me by persons asking if the objects might be meteorites. All have unusual shapes. Some correspondents have told me that they think their rock must be a meteorite because it is “funny looking.” Although some iron meteorites have unusual shapes, stony meteorites do not have weird, bizarre, goofy, or funny looking shapes. Nearly all of the of the objects below are sedimentary rocks or minerals. Many of them are hematite concretion or nodules. One looks like molten metal poured into water and another appears to be an arrowhead made from a natural rock.
Note that none of these rocks has a fusion crust.
