Ruth Shaffer

Graduate Student

Ruth is a third-year graduate student in the Memory & Cognition Lab.  She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2016 with a B.A. in Psychology (concentration in Cognitive Neuroscience) and a minor in Computer Science.  During her time there, she worked with Kathleen McDermott and Roddy Roediger.  She is continuing her stay at Wash U, with a primary interest in using both behavioral and neuroimaging techniques to better understand the mechanisms that underlie successful learning and retrieval of information from long-term memory. She is also interested in how these mechanisms change across age. She is a National Science Foundation GRFP recipient and a member of the McDonnell International Scholars Academy.
