Project Title: Dual-Eligible Research and Policy Collaborative
Project Summary: The purpose of this multi-site and multi-PI project is to: 1) advance research on integrated coverage and alternative payment models for dual-eligibles; 2) identify which features of integrated models improve care for dual-eligibles, including vulnerable subpopulations of dual-eligibles; and 3) identify the causes and consequences of models that detract from integrated coverage. Related to these goals, we will develop the methodological expertise to support timely evaluations of integration and payment reform policy for dual-eligibles and engage in research translation and dissemination with federal and state policymakers to guide evolving policy. Our work will provide evidence about which features of integrated coverage and alternative payment models advance policymakers’ goals for providing higher quality and fiscally sustainable care; provide visibility into how these models affect equity of care; and identify models that detract from the goals of integration and should be phased out.
