Artists First is seeking volunteer students from the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts to collaborate and work alongside staff and with artists in the development of an innovative public art exhibit/initiative. The goal of the collaboration is to aid in elevating the reputation of neuro diverse artists in the St. Louis region. A student with the following attributes/experience would be ideal:
- Someone with exposure or understanding of neurodiversity, veteran issues such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, youth experiencing toxic stress and or elders experiencing memory loss
- Interest in outsider art
- Flexible daytime availability
- Dependability
- Strong personal boundaries and comfort working within a diverse community
- Creative – thinking outside the box and open to possibilities
- Strengths based ideology
- Dedicated to social change and equity centered practice
- Strong interpersonal skills
