USGBC-Missouri Gateway: The Intersection of Climate Change & Health

he Intersection of Climate Change and Health
An awakening and call to action on future outcomes

Join us Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm for a unique continuing education program. This session will explore the impact that climate change has on the health and physical well-being of those directly and indirectly impacted by Climate Change.

Across the country, conversations are taking place around climate change and resiliency. We’ve seen the horrific and mesmerizing images from hurricanes, wildfires and floods. The cost of not being prepared is oftentimes beyond economic.

Climate change is anticipated to pose threats to human health via decreased air quality from air pollution, wildfires and aeroallergens; altered risks of infectious diseases, including waterborne, foodborne, and vector-borne diseases like Lyme Disease and West Nile Virus; and mental health impacts.

In the face of climate change where does the health and well-being of our communities stand? As an attendee, you will have the floor. Our expert speakers will present briefly on the below learning objectives but we are mainly interested in, what do you want to know about the impact climate change has on health?**
