Gephardt Institute seeking Proposals for Civic Action Week

Spray-painted posters across multiple clotheslines in red, blue, silver, and black with stars, stripes, with patriotic, democratic language and iconography urging voting.

The Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement is hosting Civic Action Week on September 25-30, 2022. This is a weeklong initiative to highlight civic engagement opportunities throughout Washington University—in relationship with local community, campus partners, and beyond. All week across campus, different faculty, staff, and community partners will host events and other opportunities to engage.

They are accepting proposals on a rolling basis through August 10. Activities should be related to civic and community engagement and advance opportunities for knowledge sharing, dialogue, community building, or further engagement. Get creative with your ideas, nothing is too big or too small to consider!

Proposals selection criteria:

  1. Individuals who submit a proposal are responsible for securing any resources (staffing, materials, etc.) necessary to host their activity or event.
  2. Proposals must be aligned with the Gephardt Institute’s mission to foster a vibrant culture of civic engagement throughout Washington University, realized by engaged citizens, scholarship, and partnerships that advance the collective good.

The Gephardt Institute and Civic Action Week Committee are available to support your thinking, brainstorming, or questions if needed.
