Once we fully identified the problem that we were dealing with, we had to determine how we could find a possible set of solutions. The factors that we can control in this situation are the location where Let’s Talk is held to maximize student accessibility. With that in mind, we needed to find a program that would allow us model attendance to Let’s Talk at different locations. In particular, we needed a program that would let us create a population of agents with specific characteristics from the survey responses, and use those characteristics to narrow down the population to the subset of students who would benefit from and use Let’s Talk. Our ultimate goal is to have the attendance generated by the model match the actual attendance from the SHS data, so that we could vary parameters and test other locations to identify better locations to hold Let’s Talk.
