As a woman in STEM, the importance of fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion is paramount.
I am currently a member of ACM, ACM-W, and SWE.
In undergrad at Stetson University, I participated in EAAI’s Outreach program for K-12. I was also president of our local ACM chapter.
In graduate school, I participated in our local WiCS chapter events, such as “WeBelong!”. I was a Graduate Ambassador for the McKelvey Engineering School for two years, representing the Computer Science department. This involved speaking to prospective students and attending women-centric conferences and diversity graduate school fairs. I was also a member of the Graduate Student Alliance in my department representing the graduate student body and their needs.
