Minakshi completed her Ph.D. from the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram, India, and joined the Kapoor lab in 2021. Her current project in the lab is to explore the mechanism regulating the release of midkine upon TIP1 blockage in lung cancer models. She enjoys learning cutting-edge research focusing on targeted cancer therapy. In her free time, she likes to watch movies, travel, paint, or cook.

 

Harendra Kumar Shah, PhD

Harendra Kumar Shah, PhD

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Harendra completed his PhD from the University of Delhi, India. He joined the Kapoor Lab in 2022. He is working on development of antibody drug-conjugate for targeted cancer drug delivery. He is very keen in learning and doing translational research specific to targeted cancer therapy. He also likes to do yoga, cooking, and listening to music in his free time.

Sai is currently an undergraduate student at Washington University in St. Louis pursuing a major in biology with a concentration in neuroscience and minors in psychological & brain sciences and healthcare management. As a member of the inaugural cohort of the Vagelos Undergraduate Research Fellowship, he is committed to expanding his knowledge and skills to gain valuable experience and insight into the research process. In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano, playing badminton, and hanging out with friends.

Zakayo is currently part of WashU’s MARC U-STAR program. Outside his academic pursuits, Zakayo has a passion for writing poetry and playing basketball.

Janet is an undergraduate student at the University of Missouri-Columbia studying Biochemistry and Public Health. She was selected for WashU’s RadSummer program. She is passionate about helping others and hopes to be a doctor in the future. Janet hopes to specialize in anesthesia or work in the field of surgery. She loves to travel and recently returned from a two-week trip to Peru. In her free time, Janet enjoys reading, working out and listening to music.

I am a current undergraduate student at Washington University in St. Louis majoring in biomedical engineering. I enjoy learning about targeted cancer therapies and different signalling pathways of cancer cells. In addition to participating in research, I compete on cross country and track teams at WashU. I enjoy hiking, hanging out with friends, and watching movies in my free time.

Mahith is currently a Junior at Ladue High School. He is from Sri Lanka and interested in many different sides of science. He is mostly interested in Chemistry. He wants to study medicine to help people with identifying certain types of disorders in bones, joints etc. When he came to the United States, he didn’t know much English to communicate with others. It took him 3 years to get to where he is now. He works very hard to come to the place where he is now. One of the toughest challenges that he will face this summer will be taking the ACT. He loves to travel and get to know people.
