My group is interested in quantitative assessment and numerical simulation of clinical care delivery, with a particular emphasis on acute ischemic stroke.

Our most recent efforts pertain to studying disparities in access to stroke care, infrastructure to treat pediatric stroke, and viability of hospital “bypass” models that allow patients to bypass the nearest hospital (if it is not capable of certain stroke treatments) in favor of one that is farther but more capable. We have also recently studied the changes in procedural volumes and patient outcomes that follow the introduction of expanded window thrombectomy.
