Explore the use of classroom built photobioreactors as a tool for students to gain a deeper understanding of the process of photosynthesis and authentic experimentation. A model photobioreactor will be built during the workshop. The workshop will continue with a survey of the biofuel products of algae: Ethanol Fermentation and Biodiesel. Kits for making ethanol and biodiesel in the classroom will be demonstrated, with time for exploration and Q&A.
