Schools may not have the staff or resources in-house to provide services to all students at-risk for suicide. The role of schools and school crisis intervention is often to connect students at-risk and/or in crisis and their families to the appropriate services in the community. Schools can proactively establish relationships with community agencies prior to a crisis. Schools may benefit from establishing partnerships with services in the community in advance of a crisis.
