HIGH IRI Fellow | Institute of HIV Research and Innovation, Bangkok, Thailand

Reshmie Ramautarsing is Implementation Science Director at the Institute of HIV Research and Innovation (IHRI) in Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. Ramautarsing graduated medical school with honors from Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam, the Netherlands in 2009, and received her doctorate in HIV medicine for the University of Amsterdam in 2013. She has more than 10 years’ experience with HIV research and service delivery in Thailand.

She has been working for IHRI since 2016. Currently her main research interest is on the implementation of HIV and related services for key populations in Thailand and the Asia-Pacific region. She has a particular focus on key population led health service (KPLHS) delivery of HIV pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis, sexually transmitted infections including hepatitis C virus infection, chem-sex assessment and management, transgender health services, same day initiation of antiretroviral therapy and differentiated service delivery for the maintenance of antiretroviral therapy. Through this work, she has become increasingly interested in implementation science. Recognizing the gap between evidence based interventions and real life practice and policy, and the vital role that implementation science plays in bridging this gap, the integration of implementation science with KPLHS has become one of her main research interests.
