Nqobile Ngoma, PhD, MPH

Nqobile Ngoma is a South African Clinical Research Fellow at Africa Health Research Institute and a PhD candidate at University College London with research interests in adolescent health, sexual reproductive health and rights, and HIV prevention. Her educational background includes a Masters of Public Health Epidemiology and Biostatistics, HIV/AIDS Management, and Clinical Medicine bachelor’s degree. Her work experience includes being an Epidemiologist at the National Institute for Communicable Diseases’ Center for Healthcare-Associated Infections, Antimicrobial Resistance, and Mycoses, as well as the South African Field Epidemiology Training Program. She has experience in epidemiological hypothesis-driven research, large health database analysis, disease surveillance and public health surveillance evaluation, outbreak investigation and control, teaching and training, as well as strong scientific communication skills. She is currently working under implementation science, specifically in HIV prevention research, under the mentorship of Prof. Maryam Shahmanesh.
