Nancy Ngumbau, MBCHB, MPH is a Medical doctor and Research scientist based at the Research and Programs Department, Kenyatta National Hospital. She completed her medical training at the University of Nairobi, and Global Health (MPH) at the University of Washington. She has coordinated and conducted several implementation science trials, studies and audits to aid in improving the quality of healthcare services delivered to the population and facilitate policy development. Over the past 5 years, her primary research focus has been on HIV prevention among pregnant and postpartum women, particularly looking at how to deliver PrEP to this population.

Her long-term vision is to contribute to addressing individual-level, facility-level and structural barriers to HIV prevention, especially among women living in resource-limited settings through scientific knowledge gained by evidence-based epidemiologic and implementation science research and policy formulation. Her current study aims to address the double burden of HIV and NCDs through increased HIV testing among hard-to-reach populations and promoting early screening of non-communicable diseases ensuring optimal gains in population health.
