
Maureen Luba, BA, MMSc

Maureen Luba is a global health practitioner and an early career researcher with over 15 years of experience in sexual and reproductive health, TB, HIV/AIDS, pandemic preparedness and community health systems strengthening across Africa.
She currently serves as a Senior Advisor for Global Policy at AVAC, where she helps lead the organization’s policy advocacy efforts both regionally and globally. Maureen serves on several advisory and governance boards, including the Medicines Patent Pool, the IAS HIV Vaccine Industry Partnership advisory group, Brilliant Consortium Scientific Advisory Group and the African Women Prevention Community Accountability Board. She was recently appointed as a commissioner for the Lancet Global Health Commission on People-Centered Care.
Maureen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Malawi and a Master’s in Global Health Delivery from Harvard Medical School. She is currently pursuing her PhD.
