Dr. Marie-Claude Lavoie is an assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She is also the Director of Strategic Information and Evaluation at Ciheb where she oversees the monitoring and evaluation strategy, systems and activities for over a dozen projects across multiple countries in sub-Saharan Africa. She works with the country’s programs to optimize the use of data to inform policy and decision-making and improve patient’s health outcomes. Prior to joining UMB, Dr. Lavoie worked as a regional technical advisor for the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization for the Latin American and Caribbean region. Dr. Marie-Claude Lavoie’s research interests include epidemiological and implementation research methods to evaluate effects of interventions to focusing on HIV prevention and treatment services in low- and middle-income countries.
