Margarate N. Munakampe, MPH, PhD

Margarate N. Munakampe is a faculty member and researcher at the University of Zambia (UNZA), specifically working in the School of Public Health’s Department of Health Policy and Management. Alongside her academic role, she serves as the Training and Capacity Building Coordinator for the Zambia Chapter of Women in Global Health (WGHZ). Margarate possesses a diverse educational background encompassing social sciences, public health, and extensive research experience in various areas such as health policy and systems, sexual and reproductive health, mental health, maternal and child health, early childhood development, and social protection, as they intersect with addressing the challenges faced when implementing programs in resource-limited settings. She possesses a broad range of skills, including qualitative research, mixed methods, program evaluation, and some experience in utilizing participatory research approaches. Margarate earned her doctoral degree in Public Health and a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Zambia’s School of Public Health. Her research endeavours aim to shed light on health policies and interventions in marginalized contexts, emphasizing a human rights framework.
