Dr Maggie Nyirenda-Nyang’wa MBBS, FRCPCH, MMED pch , MSc, PhD is a Malawian Consultant Pediatrician with interest in Infectious Diseases , Global Health and Implementation Science. After completing medical training and pediatric specialization, she studied for a MSc in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and a PhD in Global Health at University College London. Her research interests have been in pediatrics , improving and optimizing diagnosis of infectious diseases by using point of care/near-patient diagnostic tests and Implementation Science. Her research has focused on HIV, TB, Covid-19, Community acquired respiratory tract infections (CA-ARTI).
She is currently a Consultant Pediatrician at Lewisham Hospital, an Honorary Lecturer at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHES) and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Kings College London. She is also the Pediatric Specialty Lead for NIHR South London Research Delivery Network and Lead for Implementation Science Special Interest Group at University College London.
