Lavanya Vasudevan, PhD, MPH, CPH

Lavanya Vasudevan, PhD, MPH, CPH is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health and the Global Health Institute at Duke University. Her research focuses on the development and implementation of socio-behavioral interventions for reducing vaccination inequities and hesitancy, globally. Dr. Vasudevan is interested in alleviating the complex challenges associated with vaccination delivery and uptake in populations experiencing health disparities and those living in rural settings. A key theme in her research is the development and evaluation of multi-level strategies that are linked to routine health services for proactively and systematically reducing barriers to vaccination. Dr. Vasudevan is interested in the use of multidisciplinary collaborations, mixed methods, implementation science, and digital health technologies to support intervention development, effectiveness, scaling, and sustainability. Dr. Vasudevan completed her doctoral training in Molecular Biology and Genetics at Cornell University and received a Master’s degree in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Vasudevan is Certified in Public Health by the National Board of Public Health Examiners.
