Hikabasa Halwiindi, PhD, MPhil

Dr. Hikabasa Halwiindi is the Dean for the School of Public Health, as well as a Senior Lecturer for the Department of Community and Family Medicine at the University of Zambia. He has a PhD in Community Health from the University of Copenhagen, an MPhil in International community health from the University of Oslo, and a BSc degree in Biological Sciences (Parasitology Major) from the University of Zambia.
His research interests and experiences are varied and inter-disciplinary within Public Health Sciences. His publications contribute to the literature on control of neglected tropical diseases, community-directed interventions, maternal and child health and Public Health Nutrition; while his teaching credentials and experience fall within various areas of public health including Community Health, Implementation Science, Health Promotion, and Research Methodology. Over the years he has also been a consultant for various International and local organizations, including the World Food Program, WHO, DFID, UNICEF, National Aids Council, Ministry of Health and Civil Societies Alliance on Scaling Up Nutrition.
