Dr. Chikondi Chapuma is a global health researcher and a fellow in the inaugural cohort of the AFRI-HIGH Implementation Science Fellowship. With a public health and medicine background, her work focuses on advancing women’s health, specifically maternal infections and implementation science in Sub-Saharan Africa. She has contributed to research on maternal sepsis prevention, HIV care for infants, and improving data quality to strengthen health systems. She is skilled in designing protocols, applying behavioural change theories, and conducting advanced research to drive evidence-based interventions. Chikondi has dedicated the next five years to addressing the gaps she has identified in prior work on maternal infections.
