Dr. Muyonga is a consultant Pediatrician and researcher based at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kisumu Kenya. She graduated from Moi University School of Medicine for both undergraduate (2009) and postgraduate degrees (2018).
She is one of the champions advocating for the rights of children with Sickle Cell Disease and those with rare diseases as well. She is currently working with Tin Soldiers to trace and manage patients with Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva.
She is part of a board working with different partners to develop a Sickle Cell Disease registry in Kenya as well as doing some quality improvement research to standardise patient clinic forms as well as formulating a passport for the warriors to enable ease of documentation and follow-up. She is a project team member in Kisumu County who are working on setting up a center of excellence for Sickle Cell Disease and Hematology with an aim of having bone marrow transplants done in the same facility.
She is a Scientific Committee board member of Tumaini Sickle Cell Organisation where they do research and support warriors through initiatives to get funding for their treatment and improving their livelihoods through self help groups.
She is a Board member of Kenya Pediatric Association as well as an assistant secretary of the Kenya Pediatric Association, Lake Region Branch.
