Maximum Contaminant Level
The Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) is the highest level of a contaminant that is allowed in drinking water.
MCL: 60 μg/L
This MCL is for total haloacetic acids. Thus, any combination of dibromoacetic acid, dichloroacetic acid, monobromoacetic acid, monochloroacetic acid, and trichloroacetic acid exceeding 60 μg/L warrants cleanup.
