Mauricio Erazo

Mauricio was an intern in the Amgen Scholars program for the summer of 2023.

Mauricio is a current undergraduate student studying Molecular Biology and is on the pre-medicine track at Colorado College. He joined our lab in the summer of 2023 and is currently working on using single nucleus RNA-seq data from both traumatic brain injury (TBI) mimicked injury in mice and human Alzheimer diseased brains to understand the specific pathways dysregulated in TBI that contribute to Alzheimer disease etiology. Mauricio, a southern Georgia native, enjoys cooking, thrifting, and increasing diversity within the pre-health and science communities.

Brenna Novotny, MS

Brenna Novotny, MS

Bioinformatics Research Analyst

Brenna is a Bioinformatics Research Analyst in the lab. Since joining in 2020, her work has focused on leveraging metabolomics and single nucleus RNA sequencing data to study changes in the Alzheimer disease brain. Brenna has also developed and implemented data browsers for the lab’s multi-omic and snRNA-seq data. She received her B.S. in Genomics and Molecular Genetics from Michigan State University and her M.S. in Bioinformatics from Grand Valley State University. In her free time she enjoys crafts, cycling, and taking care of her dog and geckos.
