The Graduate Student Senate (GSS) is committed to improving the personal, professional, and academic lives of graduate students.  Our extensive work on programs would not be possible without the dedication of our Senators in collaboration with students and administrators from across campus.

Join our Monthly Meetings, every first Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Graduate Center Commons (lowest floor in the Women’s Building).

The GSS invites all graduate students from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering and the Brown School of Social Work to attend our monthly meetings and/or participate as a member of a standing committee. We need your help not only to carry on important student-run events (e.g. the Graduate Research Symposium and the Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award), but also to advocate for graduate student needs: better health care, off-campus housing, diversity and inclusiveness, sustainability, and much more.  Participation introduces students to students from other departments and key administrators at the university. Committee work also develops key professional and leadership skills that will be useful in future career endeavors.
