Each election, millions of people cannot vote because of transportation issues. The Graduate Student Senate, the Graduate and Professional Student Advisory Council to the CDI and WashU Student Union are partnering with the nonpartisan A. Philip Randolph Institute to offer rides to the polls for St. Louis voters in need. Volunteers will work in teams of two to drive St. Louis voters to their polling place on Election Day (Tuesday, November 6th, 2018).

Volunteer drivers can drive their own personal vehicle or, if they have a driver’s license and insurance but no vehicle, may use an Enterprise CarShare vehicle through the Gephardt Institute’s Civic Engagement CarShare fund. **Drivers in personal vehicles may receive mileage reimbursement – more details to come** Volunteers who are not driving will help find polling places and navigate.
Volunteers will participate in an Election Protection Training so you can help voters know their rights when they get to their polling place. Two dates available:
- Wednesday Oct. 31, 2018: 12-1pm Law School
- Monday, Nov. 5, 2018: 9-10am Liberman Graduate Center (DUC 300)
On November 6th, 2018, the nonpartisan A. Philip Randolph Institute of St. Louis will coordinate volunteers to get voters to the polls. WashU volunteers will be based in the Grandel Square area.
