Welcome to the Graduate and Professional Student Council!
GPSC is a unified student government representing all graduate and professional students at WashU. GPSC was created from a merger between the Graduate Student Senate and the Graduate Professional Council.
What does GPSC do?
GPSC serves the WashU graduate and professional student body by advocating at WashU administrative meetings and organizing the following events:
- Welcome Event (Fall)
- Winter Holiday Party (Fall)
- Graduate Research Symposium (Spring)
- Outstanding Faculty and Staff Awards (Spring)
How does GPSC operate?
GPSC has two chambers to acknowledge the diverse needs specific to professional/master’s and PhD students.
Meetings are structured as follows:
- General discussion among all members on issues that affect all graduate and professional students
- Breakout sessions by chamber: discussions among the PhD students (e.g., stipends, dissertation support) and discussions among the graduate/professional chamber (e.g., professional licensing)
