The United States Constitution was signed by the delegates to the Constitutional Convention on September 17, 1787.

Section 111 of Public Law 108-477, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2005, requires that each educational institution that receives Federal funds hold an educational program on the United States Constitution on September 17.

In recent years, Constitution Day activities at Washington University have been coordinated through the Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement and have included trivia contests, panels and discussion forums.

Information concerning activities for the next Constitution Day activities will be available through the Gephardt Institute’s website.
