In celebration of National Postdoc Appreciation Week, we’d like to shine a spotlight on our exceptional Postdoc, Dr. Dorothy Mangale. Dorothy joined our team in December after earning her PhD from the University of Washington. Her dissertation explored the application of implementation science frameworks to evaluate the uptake and success factors of the Adolescent Transition Package—an initiative designed to enhance HIV disclosure and facilitate the transition of adolescents from pediatric to adult HIV care in Kenya. She will continue this important work, focusing on adapting this successful intervention for adolescents living with cancer as part of the Global Oncology Initiative team at WashU.
Since joining us, Dorothy has hit the ground running. She is spearheading our emerging “Elimu” core, dedicated to training and capacity building while mentoring trainees worldwide. Always on the move, she has already presented at two international conferences, with more on the horizon, and has co-authored over eight accepted abstracts.
