
Jules Padro
Jules is from New York City and recently graduated from Smith College with a B.A. Biological Sciences (focusing on Genetics, Evolution, and Molecular Bioscience). They are interested in applying genetic and genomic-based approaches to infectious and acquired diseases. In graduate school, they plan to study genetics as it relates to immunology, microbiology, and cancer.
Research Area
Jules is in the Walter lab, where they are focusing on inhibiting DNA-repairing proteins in cells with mutations in splicing factors as a potential drug treatment for patients with Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
