About me

I am an Assistant Professor with the Electrical and Systems Engineering Department at Washington University in St. Louis. I earned a doctorate in Operations Research and Financial Engineering at Princeton University in 2014. I am the author of It’s a Trap: Emperor Palpatine’s Poison Pill on the economic fallout of the destruction of the second Death Star in Star Wars Episode 6: The Return of the Jedi.  I am interested in set optimization problems with applications to risk measurement and systemic risk. And, as this blog shows, the applications of finance to fiction.
