Project Scope

While clinical-grade at-home heart monitor designs have allowed for out-patient monitoring of a subject’s ECG, current at-home heart monitors are inconvenient and often uncomfortable to wear due to the fact that adhesive pads used for ECG’s can be irritating to the skin over long periods of time, and the monitor is not easy to discreetly wear underneath clothing. To address this issue, wearable ECG shirts have been designed in the past, however these designs are often not medical grade or machine washable.

We intend to deliver a prototype of a medical-grade ECG shirt that:

  • Allows continual monitoring of a patient’s cardiac signal by both the patient and the doctor via a wireless connection
  • Is machine washable so that patients may monitor their ECG over several days in a hygienic manner
  • Is discrete enough to not be disruptive to daily activities/attire for the average patient

This product will be delivered by April 26th, 2023.
