Step 2: Evaluate for venous malposition

Procedure

✔️ Linear probe over Contralateral** IJ

  • Label image ” L IJ Flush” if placing a Right sided line or “RIJ Flush” if placed a left sided IJ line
  • ** IF PLACING A SUBCLAVIAN LINE – Please obtain images of both IJs (ipsilateral AND contralateral)**

✔️ Flush

  • Inject 10cc NS into the distal port of CVC
  • Save clip
IJ without flow: DRAUPIN
IJ with flow: DRAUPOUT

✔️ DRAUPIN

Step 3

✖️ DRAUPOUT

  • Write .DRAUPOUT note
  • Obtain CXR
