New Graduate Student

The lab welcomes Bernie Mulvey, a previous rotation student interested in the activity and regulation of monoamine neurons in psychiatric disease, as well as in response to psychiatric drugs. He’s looking forward to studying sexual dimorphism in the brain, per our NARSAD grant, as well as characterizing changes in gene expression in the presence of genetic mutations linked […]

NARSAD Grant Awarded!

Congratulations to Joe for recently being awarded a NARSAD Independent Investigator Grant! The studies outlined aim to analyze sexually dimorphic gene expression in different regions of the brain. We’re hopeful these studies will give an insight into the biology underlying the male predominance of–and female-protectedness-from–disorders like autism-spectrum disorders and ADHD.

Moving Day

Lab Moving Day!  We are off to sunnier pastures in the brand spanking new Scott McKinley Research Building.  Awesome new space! -Dec 15th 2015 Update: Sunnier pastures isn’t a joke–floor to ceiling windows and glass-enclosed lab spaces make for natural light everywhere. And we have a view of the Arch from our hallway!

Who’s on a roll?

Nathan is on a roll:  The anatomical distribution of genetic associations is published.  A paper that paid its dues in full. Tears of joy!

The lab keeps on growing

Katie has joined the lab. Welcome Katie! Update: In addition to helping manage and genotype mouse colonies, Katie is excited to begin work on the Calling Cards project, which allows us to place markers into the genome of mice when a certain gene is being used.
