Application Instructions:
- Read through the program details, goals, and eligibility requirements to ensure that this program matches your educational and career goals, and that you are eligible to apply.
- Apply via the WashU job site. There is a separate posting for each program. Please only apply to the program you are interested in. If interested in both, you may apply to both.
- Program 1: DCBRM Postbacc Program. This program is designed for students interested in a 2-year paid postbaccalaureate research position. For this program, please apply via this posting (JR85698).
- Program 2: NIGMS funded R25 Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP). This program is ideal for students from diverse backgrounds that are interested in a NIH funded 1-year postbaccalaureate research position. For this program, please apply via this posting (JR85707).

- Biographic information
- Education history, including previous degrees, conferral dates, and granting institutions
- Compile and upload as a single document:
- Curriculum vitae or resume: Include education history, relevant research experience, volunteer or community service activities, teaching or mentoring experience, leadership experience, honors, awards, publications and anything else that you believe is pertinent. No more than 5 pages.
- Personal Statement: Provide an overview of your research interests, career goals, and why you wish to participate in this program. If you have not had previous research experience and/or scientific education, you may address it here. Please also briefly address your interest in developmental biology, cell biology, and/or regenerative medicine. You may also list any faculty mentors or targeted research areas that you are interested in, but this is not required. No more than one page, 11 point font (Arial or Times New Roman), one inch margins, single spaced.
- Faculty Mentors: Please indicate 5 preferred faculty mentors (in order of preference) and your preferred area(s) of research. Please visit our faculty mentor page to see a list of potential mentors.
- Unofficial Transcript: Provide a copy of your unofficial transcript.
- In addition, you must have have two letters of recommendation sent to DBRMpostbacc@email.wustl.edu by your letter writers. They should be received by March 1, 2025 for full consideration or May 31, 2025 for rolling admissions.
