I’m from Georgia, the country that is located at the intersection of Europe and Asia, the Black Sea and the Caucasus mountains. I have MD degree from Tbilisi State Medical University (2002) and MSW from Columbia University (2010) and have been working with UNICEF and other international and local non-governmental organizations mainly focusing on child welfare and juvenile justice reforms. As the principal investigator, I run several research projects both in Georgia and abroad.
My research interests are Child welfare, Child maltreatment, Gender based violence, Poverty, Social policy and Social protection.
